This week's Sundays In My City is a short one. I've been on the run lately and since it's Oscar Sunday, I'll be parked in front of the television for the better part of the day checking out the stars and the awards show.
*******
It's been a busy couple of weeks as I zipped through making this baby quilt for a wonderful family friend. A bouncing baby boy is on the way and this "I Spy" quilt will hopefully keep him occupied and happy while he's playing and learning new things. The baby shower is next weekend and I'm hoping the mom-to-be loves it.

That's an absolutely wonderful quilt!!
You're talented.
:)
And patient. I simply do not have the patience for long projects.
That's a very cute city on that quilt for Sunday or any day. What a lucky mom getting that for her new little boy.
Enjoy the Oscars.
Your quilt is just adorable and the baby will truly enjoy it and have so much fun with the I spy. Great job!!
That quilt is AMAZING. I'm not a huge quilt person, but that is something I would completely treasure.
How could she NOT appreciate that beautiful quilt? It's absolutely amazing and gorgeous. I might take up quilting myself one day, but it will be a while before I could do something like that!
What a beautiful quilt. I'm sure the mom and baby will both love it!!
This is such a gorgeous quilt! Mommy will be very happy and it will be a keepsake for the baby. We have a potluck party tomorrow night, but I'm planning to leave the TV on for the Oscars. :-)
The firetruck and the Kangaroo on the quilt make it adorable!

How could anyone not love a quilt as beautiful as the one you have made? It is gorgeous, I especially love that there is a kangaroo on the quilt.

You made that quilt??????? That is INCREDIBLE.
Oh my word. That quilt is simply amazing. I love it Joanna! Really beautiful! The mom is going to flip out!
The quilt is gorgeous! I can only imagine how much mom and baby are going to love it.
I'm so impressed with, not only how talented you are, but how quickly you finished it. I started a baby sized quilt for my son shortly after he was born, but I haven't quite finished it, yet. Did I mention he's a senior in high school and recently turned 18 years old? Yeah, it's probably never going to be done. Sigh.
!!!!!!
I make I Spy Quilts, but not like this... oh my. !!!!
I 'm all squealing and stuff.
wow. Joanna. wow.
and you 've inspired me to get to the Sewing machine store, as my free motion attachment thingy hasn't been staying attached and I keep procrastinating . thank you.
and again... wow!!!!!
That quilt is amazing! Such a fun idea.
We'll be watching the awards tomorrow due to the time difference.
Hope you enjoy the Oscars. And I hope The King's Speech wins an Oscar - it's a great film.

Yes I enjoy award shows. The Grammy night was good.
What a great idea for a youngster. It's pretty, and should provide hours of entertainment.

amazing quilt! I will be watching the Oscar's also, lounging in my jammies. It's very cold and windy in Seattle today, a great day to stay in!
What a great quilt!! That would be so wonderful for any child, such a thoughtful gift for you to make.
I just love the blankets that you've made. Did Godson help with this one too? You are so talented!
That quilt is beautiful.

What a thoughtful gift! I love the beautiful quilt. I am not good with crafts but I respect people who have that gift. Happy Oscar Watching!
That is so cool! I love what you made... but the fact that you "zipped" through it? I'm a little jealous.
Nope, no Oscars for me. I don't do the whole celebrity thing. Watching Suze Orman from last night right now actually.
Wow! That is one cool quilt. Looks like there's a lot of things to spy on it, so I'm sure it'll keep him busy.
I watched the Oscars, too. I mean, who doesn't? Unfortunately I haven't seen all the nominees for best pic, but I was hoping that Colin Firth would win - and he did! So yay.
Your quilt is so fun - you did some lovely work there. What's not to like?
Gorgeous!! I love CSN and have my fingers crossed!

I did not see a minute of the oscars. Seems like I still had a pretty good Sunday:)
That is a delightful quilt.
What a gorgeous little quilt you made. I love quilts myself, and this one is really cute for a little one.
Was totally absorbed by the Oscars. They were fun, weren't they?
That quilt is such a lovely gift, Joanna.
I missed the Academy Awards...caught up with it second hand. My beloved friend, Sony Holland, my favorite jazz singer who relocated a year and a half ago to your neck of the woods, was in Santa Cruz and San Francisco, with her equally talented lyricist husband, so two friends and I overnighted in Santa Cruz, then were at the Rrazz Room Sunday aftenoon to see them again. Fabulous music, reunion with old friends and her other devoted fans...a great weekend.
Wow - just beautiful!
