Seeing Green

If the Grinch doesn't put you in the holiday spirit, I don't know what would! Godson and I love that famous Dr. Seuss story-- And apparently, so does Universal Studios Hollywood who turned a portion of the theme park into Whoville, complete with "real" snow-- Or at least as "real" as fake snow can be in Los Angeles. But to be honest, it was so cold here on Tuesday, that we thought it actually could snow! Burrrr! (And yes I know, I'm a wimp.)

Welcome to Grinchmas Hollywood style!

The park was decked out in it's finest Whoville decorations including this stunning Christmas tree.

Of course the Big Green Guy was there in person-- Mr. Grinch and his dog Max took pictures with anyone who wanted to wait in line for the opportunity.

The Grinch also put on a heck of a show with the people of Whoville.

His perfect shade of green looked great in a Santa suit.

But, the whole time I was watching the show and taking pictures, all I could think about was this....

My duster! No wonder I just had to have it. It remind me of the Grinch-- And Christmas-- And happy endings! Now, if I could just get the Grinch to stop by my house to do a little cleaning!

I'll be taking a few days off to read blogs and catch up on my jet-lag. I hope your holidays are happy and bright!

  2. Holy Moly, is that Whoville tree real? I wish my vacuum cleaner made me feel as good as your duster does you. I might clean the house a little more often. And sing Christmas carols.

  9. I love The Grinch....not so overly fond of dusters. We are seeing white instead of green here. Snow is falling and up to 8 inches is predicted. Have a wonderful holiday, Joanna.

  11. That tree is just awesome....but I have always found the "live" grinch to be a bit on the scary looking side. Happy Holidays!

  12. Love the Grinch and the decorations are amazing. Wonder if that was fun to do or frustrating because so tricky.

I also wonder if someone, thinking they are the Grinch, robbed the preschool in Florida of their tree, presents and ham? I hope it was that because it would be returned.

  13. I've never been to Universal Studios but it looks fun. However, if the Grinch would agree to dust my house, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'd be booking a flight (with a return flight for 2) in speed-warp time!!!!

    Merry Christmas

  14. O.k., it's confirmed......whoever is designing dusters is an old hippie from the 60's. I have one that looks like an orange shag rug.
Thanks for sharing your visit to Universal, ho ho ho. xo

  15. I wanted to marry Dr. Suess, 'just gotta love him! Man, with that duster and a little dust I could have a real hayday in Whoville or anywhere else they'd let an obsessively clean chick rock and roll with cleaning products. I know, someday I'm gonna seek some help. Heeeheehe. I enjoyed the pics as I'm sure the little Godson loved the park and the time with you.

God bless and have the BEST day!!!

  21. Hi Joanna, you have become acclimated to that beautiful southern CA weather, so of course if it gets below 55 out there you feel cold! I really like the curvy Christmas tree. Best wishes to you and your Beloved for a loving and healthy and happy Christmas!!

  25. Hi all, Universal Studios puts up a Whoville for 13 days at Christmas. It's pretty great. They have a big section with snow and the tree that they light at night. And, they have a musical show as part of the Tram Tour which is done on one of the real outdoor sets from the Grinch Movie. It's pretty festive and fun. WIsh you could all see it in person!

    xo Joanna

  35. The duster! Yes! I must now have one.

I feel so fortunate to actually know about Whoville and all things Seuss, for we have or own little Grinchmas going on at Universal Studios Orlando. Somehow, sharing that with you over the miles is satisfying.

I do love me some Grinch. Particularly as portrayed by Jim Carrey. Perhaps tonight is the night to get that DVD up and running.

    ♥ you, Joanna.

  40. That's a wild looking christmas tree, in the shape of a ... Santa hat???
Thanks for the beautiful message you left me, Joanna, I'm likewise glad to be acquainted with you through the blogging community and also appreciate the encouragement and support you have given me.
Have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season with all of your loved ones. Much love to you.

  41. That duster does look very clean.
If you look real close at the top of the picture there seems to be a face in the duster.
Something tells me you didn't get that as a gift because whoever would have given a duster gift maybe walking funny with said inserted duster.

    Have a Merry Christmas

  42. I love that tree!! I want one or twenty in my front yard!!
    Merry Christmas and Hugs
