If the Grinch doesn't put you in the holiday spirit, I don't know what would! Godson and I love that famous Dr. Seuss story-- And apparently, so does Universal Studios Hollywood who turned a portion of the theme park into Whoville, complete with "real" snow-- Or at least as "real" as fake snow can be in Los Angeles. But to be honest, it was so cold here on Tuesday, that we thought it actually could snow! Burrrr! (And yes I know, I'm a wimp.)
Welcome to Grinchmas Hollywood style!
The park was decked out in it's finest Whoville decorations including this stunning Christmas tree.
Of course the Big Green Guy was there in person-- Mr. Grinch and his dog Max took pictures with anyone who wanted to wait in line for the opportunity.
My duster! No wonder I just had to have it. It remind me of the Grinch-- And Christmas-- And happy endings! Now, if I could just get the Grinch to stop by my house to do a little cleaning!
The Grinch also put on a heck of a show with the people of Whoville.
His perfect shade of green looked great in a Santa suit.
But, the whole time I was watching the show and taking pictures, all I could think about was this....
I'll be taking a few days off to read blogs and catch up on my jet-lag. I hope your holidays are happy and bright!

I love Hollywood, and Universal Studio. There is charm and cheery feelings in all the fakeness :)
ReplyDeleteYour godson must have had a grand time.
Happy holidays again.
Holy Moly, is that Whoville tree real? I wish my vacuum cleaner made me feel as good as your duster does you. I might clean the house a little more often. And sing Christmas carols.
ReplyDeletehaha! where can i get me one of those? happy holidays joanna! stay warm:)
ReplyDeleteHe's just so appealing isn't he...and only you honey could see something so whimsical in a duster!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder your duster reminds you of the Grinch... it's the perfect shade of green!
ReplyDeleteOh whew.. it's a duster. I thought he lost a body part. Great, fun photos, Joanna. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Dr. Suess Book and they did a wonderful job decorating the park.
ReplyDeletehappy holidays jj! what a cool place...love the grinch...a must at christmas...nice duster too. lol.
ReplyDeleteI love The Grinch....not so overly fond of dusters. We are seeing white instead of green here. Snow is falling and up to 8 inches is predicted. Have a wonderful holiday, Joanna.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I love the crooked tree. Have a very merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThat tree is just awesome....but I have always found the "live" grinch to be a bit on the scary looking side. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteLove the Grinch and the decorations are amazing. Wonder if that was fun to do or frustrating because so tricky.
ReplyDeleteI also wonder if someone, thinking they are the Grinch, robbed the preschool in Florida of their tree, presents and ham? I hope it was that because it would be returned.
I've never been to Universal Studios but it looks fun. However, if the Grinch would agree to dust my house, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'd be booking a flight (with a return flight for 2) in speed-warp time!!!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
O.k., it's confirmed......whoever is designing dusters is an old hippie from the 60's. I have one that looks like an orange shag rug.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your visit to Universal, ho ho ho. xo
I wanted to marry Dr. Suess, 'just gotta love him! Man, with that duster and a little dust I could have a real hayday in Whoville or anywhere else they'd let an obsessively clean chick rock and roll with cleaning products. I know, someday I'm gonna seek some help. Heeeheehe. I enjoyed the pics as I'm sure the little Godson loved the park and the time with you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless and have the BEST day!!!
Looks like you had a fun time! and the Christmas tree is amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh such fun! I love the Grinch. If he does happen to stop by and clean your house could you please send him my way? We are suppose to get hit with a lot of snow over the next few days so next week would be fine too! :) I hope you and yours have a happy & merry Christmas! Lori
ReplyDeleteWhen that Grinch is done with your house, send him on over to mine!
ReplyDeleteI've missed reading you...great to go back over all the posts & I hope your trip was great ;)
Here's wishing you a very Merry Christmas!!
I love the Grinch! It's looks like Universal Studios has done a great job.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I love hearing about CA from you!! Wish I was there!!Love the pictures!!
ReplyDeleteHi Joanna, you have become acclimated to that beautiful southern CA weather, so of course if it gets below 55 out there you feel cold! I really like the curvy Christmas tree. Best wishes to you and your Beloved for a loving and healthy and happy Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they added a Whoville there. Neat. And he looks like the real deal too.
ReplyDeleteI sooo want to go there.
ReplyDeleteI sooo want to go there.
ReplyDeleteNo WAY! That is pretty cool. Love the duster, though.
ReplyDeleteI loved these photos!!! I'm a big, big Seuss fan! And now, I want to find a Whoville Christmas Tree for next year!!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Joanna!!!
Hi all, Universal Studios puts up a Whoville for 13 days at Christmas. It's pretty great. They have a big section with snow and the tree that they light at night. And, they have a musical show as part of the Tram Tour which is done on one of the real outdoor sets from the Grinch Movie. It's pretty festive and fun. WIsh you could all see it in person!
ReplyDeletexo Joanna
That is so AWESOME! I want that tree!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Universal Studios is the last theme park in california I've been too. It was a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI envy all the Californians who get to check out the fun stuff without wearing parkas, mittens and boots!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas JJ!
ReplyDeleteAnd I say this, A grinch stole Christmas (the original animated movie) is watched about every two months at teh House of Hall. Year round!!

Welcome back, Joanna, and Merry Christmas. I love that Christmas Tree in Whoville.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas to you and yours Joanna.
ReplyDeleteThe duster! Yes! I must now have one.
ReplyDeleteI feel so fortunate to actually know about Whoville and all things Seuss, for we have or own little Grinchmas going on at Universal Studios Orlando. Somehow, sharing that with you over the miles is satisfying.
I do love me some Grinch. Particularly as portrayed by Jim Carrey. Perhaps tonight is the night to get that DVD up and running.
♥ you, Joanna.
Thanks so much for sharing the Grinch photos with us. I wish I could see that in real life!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Christmas!
My mind must be in the gutter. That last photo, err, well......
ReplyDeleteHO HO HO! Merry Christmas from me and Otin!

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas my friend! Thank you for the laughs till my side hurts these past months. I can't wait to see what you write about in 2010. xo
PS Yes I think we would have a blast shopping together!
That's a wild looking christmas tree, in the shape of a ... Santa hat???
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful message you left me, Joanna, I'm likewise glad to be acquainted with you through the blogging community and also appreciate the encouragement and support you have given me.
Have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season with all of your loved ones. Much love to you.
Happy Holidays to you!
ReplyDeleteThat duster does look very clean.
ReplyDeleteIf you look real close at the top of the picture there seems to be a face in the duster.
Something tells me you didn't get that as a gift because whoever would have given a duster gift maybe walking funny with said inserted duster.
Have a Merry Christmas
I love that tree!! I want one or twenty in my front yard!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Hugs
SueAnn
Love it!
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on some blog-reading myself. Whoville looks like great fun! I like Granny Who's sneakers in the show picture...hee hee.
