Sundays In My City #25 - Street Colors

Do you know Unknown Mami? She's hosts a great Sunday theme inviting YOU to get out and take pictures of your city and or Sunday to share with the rest of blogland. Click HERE to see Unknown Mami's Sunday in her City today.

It was a gorgeous day on Thursday so I made a trip to the Fashion District in downtown Los Angeles. In addition to numerous manufactures with retail stores there are also several jammed pack blocks of fabric stores.

The bolts of fabrics line the front of every store....

Yes, even in the Fashion District, it's a jungle....

These were a dollar a piece....
I love going to this part of the city. You can't help but be happy with all the fabulous colors and textures....

Maybe I'll apply for a job....

How's your Sunday?

  1. Your fashion district I must say, looks like it is in Malaysia. I believe all the materials come from the same factory!:)

Thank you for sharing your street Joanna. It is colourful and interesting to watch.

  2. Oooooo! I love the gypsy coin scarf!

Hey Joanna, I sat next to some people on my flight to Dallas who were continuing on to LAX and I totally thought of you.

Sorry I've been MIA for so long. Been super busy and not keeping up with my blogging very well. I miss you darlin. I'll try not to let so much time go by between visits.

    XO

  3. I've been to the fashion district but it's been years since I went fabric shopping. In fact, I was a little girl the last time that happened and I remember playing between the fabric with my twin sis.

Seeing it all makes me want to start sewing once again.

  8. I used to make my own clothes, many moons ago, and I still love seeing fabric shops. Having a machine has always been a necessary evil when one is just over five foot and must take up hems of all pants and most skirts purchased. I'm grateful my mother taught me how to sew.

  9. Wow - people that sew must be in their glory there!

  19. How cool is that?!?!? It's like Project Runway when they go to "Mood" to buy their fabric and supplies.

  26. I'm jealous of all those fabrics. They do not have fabric stores as plentiful and with the variety here in the UK like they do in the USA. How I would love to visit a Calico Corners about now. Enjoyed the pics.

As for me, I am pleased to be out of hospital getting used to my new hip and I am afraid not sitting in any fashionalble attire other than blue stroped pyjamas!! Real passion killers I am afraid. LOL Eddie x
