Love Is...

What is your idea of love? That's what YorksandBeans at Elemental My Dear asks in her current Blog Challenge.

I'm not usually much of a Valentine's girl myself but this year, times have changed.

This year our family is all abuzz and "love, love, love!" is sprinkled in every conversation, day and night, in person or on the phone, via email or snail mail-- you name it, LOVE is the word heard in our corner of the universe.

Let me explain....

Remember when I introduced you to my mother? She's holding my oldest niece, Queen M, in this picture below. The babe was literally minutes old. I was there, blown away, and took the picture.

Queen M grew up to be this beautiful bride last summer. I was there and took this picture too. She took my breath away.

Yes, our Queen is blissfully happy and very much in love with her Groom Z. Our entire family make jokes about all the lllllooooovvvveee these two share.

And it's a good thing their love runneth over. Because in June, they'll have a little more to LOVE and so will all of us!

SHE'S HAVING A GIRL!!!!!!

The baby is due June 19th, and we are all absolutely in LOVE already!

So to answer the question, although my heart is full with many loved ones, at the moment, Love is.... PINK!

Join the Love Is Challenge HERE! Between now and Valentine's Day the challenge is to make a post, in the style of your blog, about what your idea of Love is... Then link up your post at Elemental My Dear to share the love with the blogosphere.

How about you?

Congratulations! Oh I keep reading all these posts about babies...it is seriously making my four legged kids seem inadequate these days.

That's delightful! Congratulations to you and, of course, the happy parents-to-be.

For me, love is holding my children's hands or hearing them whisper, "Mama -you're the best!"

That is the neatest thing taking both of those pictures. And then connecting them in a post.

Gosh, love is so many things. It can be how you feel about someone. It can show in your actions.

Your niece was a beautiful baby and a beautiful bride and soon, a beautiful mom to a gorgeous baby. I'm excited for all of you! To me, you described it best when you said love was in the air.

I will do a blog post before long on what I believe love is but one that won't be cold medication induced! :)

A new baby to love, how exciting for your family! Congratulations!

I think it's more important to have a great relationship 365 of the year than to get flowers or candy on 1 day (not that flowers or candy are a bad thing!). My husband usually gets me a bouquet of roses for Valentine's Day, but I'd love him just as much even if he didn't.

Those just born baby pics are all about love. Your niece is embarking on a wonderful, full of love adventure.

a new pink baby girl will be here soon....how fun !

and the post before this one totally cracked me up....and yes, I guess I have a few things I consider private that I wouldn't share here only because my parents and in-laws are also my readers...but if they weren't, I'd be more tempted to be open with my thougthts...dirty ones and all :)

This is a very sweet way to show your niece as a baby and then as a bride and then the baby within now. Very nice.

Beautiful post. And speaking of love, I have to say that your niece is very lucky to have your love. It's so clear, from the way you write about her here, that you adore her. Makes me want to be a better aunt, a more devoted aunt, to my own niece and nephews. Thanks for spreading the love today. And congrats on the new addition to come...

Hi Joanna...I'm really sorry, I didn't get your e-mail; my contact page seems broken unless you sent it to the Googlemail account and I didn't get it.
Either way, thank you for thinking of me but your post was lovely to read; it's nice to know that there is some love, pink or otherwise, in yours and your niece's life.
Congratulations to everyone.

There's something so overwhelming about watching time pass in photos because those moments captured are so real to the viewer.

I feel tearful and old.

Congratulations to the parents to be and all the rest of you.

What a lovely tribute and what exciting news. I am so happy for all of you and send you warm wishes for a happy uneventful pregnancy and a healthy uneventful birth.

And now for some reason, I can't get that song from South Pacific out of my head...

"There is nothing like a dame.... nothing in the world...."
