Maybe Later

The other day (two long months ago), I received a package from my favorite UPS delivery person.  He handed it to me with a smile and said "good-luck".

I'd decided it was time to get ready for summer with a workout that several friends have been doing.  They swear it's "only 30 minutes a day".  Stressing "only" numerous times so as not to mention "brutal" as well.  I say "brutal" because my friends moan and groan a lot when they walk, lift their arms or try to stand up.

But, I figured "If they can do it, I can do it."

And I did... I ordered the DVDs and workout package.

That's all I've done so far.

Today I actually opened the box and instantly felt intimidated by the bad-ass looking Jillian Michaels on the cover.  I know she's in great shape but I am praying to the heavens above that there is a significant amount of airbrushing going on in her photo.  (A girl can dream.)

There is no doubt that I'm feeling the need to get into better shape and at the rate I'm going, I'm pretty sure I might, maybe, possibly, could be ready for "big sweater weather this winter".

How's your Sunday going?

  1. I've tried her Ripped in 30 days and it's hard. Have fun! :-)

  2. Don't try to do too much too fast. I'm a fitness instructor so trust me on this! On the other hand, don't be afraid to challenge and push yourself. Mild discomfort is good; actual real pain is not! Oh, and have fun!! That's important!

  6. I've tried those things before, and I cannot get motivated to use them. That's why I attend classes at the gym, I need the social interaction. If I miss a class, the instructor asks where I've been. :-)

  7. You can do it!

I'm not a fan of Jillian Michaels. She seems hard.

  10. I adore Jillian but have been way to scared to try her DVDs. I look forward to hearing how it goes -- especially now that it's out of the box. :-)
    Have an awesome Sunday!

  11. You've got a great humor which counts more in blogland.
Of course, Jillian Michaels is NOT targeted to me but I find her approach of screaming at people to appear bad-ass really stupid.

  13. You can always learn something from all of these smart and FIT ladies. Good luck! I do good to walk around my neighborhood for exercise...but I'm older! heehee!

  14. Not into that kind of exercise. I prefer "Sit and be Fit".

  15. Good luck! I kind of prefer exercising at home. If I am in a class I'm constantly going in the wrong direction and bumping into other people!

  17. I'm not going to lie, I saw the opened box and said, "Oh! Boy!" You know what? you can do this thing!!!! If your girl friends can do it, you can do it! I know that you can. Remember the time you choked while driving? That turned out okay didn't it??? YES!!! Your still alive! and you were scared. I remember!

We will check in on each other. I need to start running again. I hate running! but I need to do it! You check on me and I'll check on you. Big sweater weather will just make us mad when we discover we need bigger sweaters.

WE GOT THIS THING!!!!!!!!! WE START TOMORROW! Ready? Set? GOOOOOOOOOOOO! WHOOOOO!!! HOOOOO!!!

  23. They're all photoshopped. All of them.

I still have yet to use Zumba CDs I bought a year ago.

  25. I think anything sent by exercise people should be sent in a plain box to avoid comments from UPS guys!

Hope it's going well. I'm trying to get better at Richard Simmons (but he came from Amazon in a plain amazon box!)
