Several very yellow thing crossed my path today.
I woke up to a bright sunny day so I put on a yellow long sleeved tee shirt.
Then I stopped my BFF's house and she'd just painted her front door a stunning yellow-- similar to this....
Sorry, my photo of her door didn't turn out.
And then I stopped by my favorite local coffee shop and who was there wearing a canary yellow sweater??? Oprah Winfrey! She was interviewing Jonah Hill for her upcoming Oscar nominee special.
Later, at my friend's 102nd birthday (!!!) dinner, we had lemon cake with yellow birthday candles in it.
I suppose that means yellow is the color of the day-- Not bad for February!
Here's some yellow to make you smile....
Welcome to www.TheFiftyFactor.com - Joanna Jenkins
Oprah is in your neighbourhood! That is a very pretty yellow door. Hello Joanna, it has been a beautiful February so far.
ReplyDeleteGreat yellow's!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheery day with lots of exciting events....that yellow long sleeved tee may just be your lucky shirt.
ReplyDeleteHappy 102nd to your friend.
I love the yellow door idea! Too bad I live in an HOA community. :(
ReplyDeleteYou know, I just went to Lowe's the other day and picked out some door paint colors....I was serious about painting it a shade of red for good luck, but now that I've seen that door....I'm maybe reconsidering. So you have to let me know what is the name of the color your BFF used on her door! Or, tell me where you found that photo and I'll see if that color is identified! You always make my days more sunny.
ReplyDeleteI often dream of a yellow house in the Berkshires, a big yellow house with many rooms and all my friends live there.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what it is about yellow...
Wow. Oprah. Adorable little kid laughing. Yup. This is the place to end my day.
102 years old? Now that is worth celebrating - with yellow!
ReplyDelete:):):)!
ReplyDeleteGee JJ, what a brilliant day you've had! I love how you just casually mention, "Oh, yeah, then I saw Oprah Winfrey.." Haaaaaaaa, if that were me? I'd be the idiot in the background, waving to my friends at home (blush)..
ReplyDeleteYour Yellow day makes me think of spring! When I was in high school, pinks and yellows (not together!) were my favorite colors to wear come spring!
ReplyDeletethat is some great yellow...yellow is one of my fav colors....used to have a yellow xterra...yellow makes me happy...
ReplyDeleteI never wear yellow, but I love to look at it. Nice lemon yellow with no hint of orange. It's a sunny color. The only problem with it is that it doesn't come in chocolate. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat was a golden day for sure! :D xo
ReplyDeleteLove it..and have been toying with maybe going similar color inside my house!
ReplyDeleteI love yellow, it just says HAPPY and sunshine and joy. Great post, and wowzer that birthday was quite an accomplisment!! Hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a pick-me-up that must have been, and what a fun-filled day! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a yellow kind of day!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous yellow!!! Makes me smile
ReplyDeleteHugs

Oh, did you get an autograph, from Oprah I mean.;) Yellow is the color of sunshine, thus one can never go wrong with such a warm colour.;))
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week - hope it is mellow yellow.;)
xoxo
How was the coffee shop crowd for Oprah? Were you surprised or did you know ahead of time? C'mon that encounter is worth more than one post.
ReplyDeleteNothin' like a bright yellow sunny day to brighten up ones spirits!!!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo, this post made my otherwise cloudy mornin' bright and cheery!!! Love it!
Oprah....??? Girl ya see the most interestin' people. All I've got is cows..... 'Just sayin'.... :o)
Have a brightly beautiful day sweet friend!!!
Next time I wear my bright yellow shirt.... I'll think of you!
ReplyDelete... and Coldplay can supply your your soundtrack with "Yellow." Great song. If you don't know it, check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-n75KVcGsw
ReplyDeleteHi all, I had no idea Oprah would be at the coffee shop (but the diner knew she was coming)-- She had a crew of about 15 people... it was all very professional on one side of the restaurant while the rest of us had breakfast on the other. It was pretty cool and not something I see very often.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure if I wasn't a regular I'd have been turned away. They were very clear no pictures were allowed and that we had to keep our voices down. But the owners are dear friends and no one had any complaints about the celebrity guests :-)
Jonah Hill lives in the neighborhood and is a regular at the 30 year old coffee shop-- Apparently he picked the place. He wanted to be able to say he took Oprah out to eat at one of his local joints.
And a 102nd birthday. My friend is in fantastic shape and has a busier schedule than I do!

I love yellow, now that's a fabulous kind of day for February!
ReplyDeleteOprah? Man, you must live in some kinda posh neighborhood. You should tell your friend to paint her sidewalk yellow; maybe some munchkins will come sing to her and bring her some lollipops. :D
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I'd like the yellow but it is actually very pretty...looks bright sunny and very clean!
ReplyDeleteWow what an awesome day....with lots of rays of sunshine about them!
ReplyDeleteYellow...one of my favorite colors!
ReplyDeleteHow neat it must have been to see Oprah.
I do love the yellow door...gorgeous!
have a Blessed evening..

I'm just mad about Saffron...
ReplyDeletewhat an uplifting post -- all the way around. AND I noticed how your post was mirrored in your standing graphic on the right: those bright lemons always cheer me up.
ReplyDeleteMy dad turns 80 next week - and swears he will live to 114. Maybe he will....congratulations to your friend!!
YELLOW!! I love that color.....makes me smile!...
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow, the last pic just made me smile. I would love to see Oprah in person, think of you often, hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteOh man, you oh so casually mention that Oprah was at the coffee shop when you got there.
ReplyDeleteYellow is a cheerful color. Friendly color.
Inviting color. No wonder your BFF painted her front door yellow.
I painted the frames around all the windows in this little hippie house a great color of yellow. I also painted the eaves the same yellow. It transformed this little non-distinct house into a cute cottage.
I would like to see your yellow long sleeve tee shirt. That sounds really nice.
Oh yeah, lemon cake, I really have a thing for lemons, like lemon flavor very much. In fact, I am going to make gluten free lemon poppy seed muffins this weekend. Yum.
Yellow is such a sunny color!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a sunshiny day.
ReplyDeleteI love yellow... from the palest to the most neon.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you blog... it still shocks me that we get to do this. have this.. it's wild and beautiful and I can't imagine life without it anymore.
and I find in general now that blogger is 'more improved' that it's hit and miss having control over spacing and font and stuff. weird.
I love that door, it's a very nice shade of yellow.
ReplyDeleteOprah ... wow you sure know where to have your coffee!
have you seen all the yellow in clothing for the spring??? i tired some on and looked awful. seriously awful.
ReplyDeletei'm going to stick with my yellow walls and maybe someday a yellow jeep :)
