I've passed this house for the past few weeks and always smiled at the door. It's an older house that's been torn down to the frame and is being rebuilt and expanded. Why they left an upstairs door in place I don't know but I'm sure there is a funny caption to fit the photo.

How funny--to leave that one door while all the rest was gutted!
I am so not good at these kind of captions.....maybe something like a sort of quirky illustration for the adage "when God closes a door he opens a window" or more in this case.

By the way, the door used to be at the ground level. This house has been raised a storey, so they have effectively added a whole new floor, without having to rebuild the roof from scratch.
Something old, something new. Mostly new.
It must something sentimental about the door.
How about simply, "Come in! We are open." :) How fun! Love the picture!!!

Maybe it was left for directional pruposes..."look for the house with he white door" - or "you can't miss it, it's the house with the white door."
