Sundays In My City

I've passed this house for the past few weeks and always smiled at the door.  It's an older house that's been torn down to the frame and is being rebuilt and expanded.  Why they left an upstairs door in place I don't know but I'm sure there is a funny caption to fit the photo.

What's yours?

  1. How funny--to leave that one door while all the rest was gutted!

  2. I am so not good at these kind of captions.....maybe something like a sort of quirky illustration for the adage "when God closes a door he opens a window" or more in this case.

  3. "I hear ya knockin' but you can't come in".
    Remember that old song?

  6. Geez. Some people will tear the whole house apart, rather than call a locksmith!

  10. Hmmmm...I'm terrible at these things. Found this quote tho: “Death has a thousand doors to let out life: I shall find one." Phillip Massinger

    Is that too morose? :)

  15. (knock knock) "Come on in! The house is always open!"

  16. By the way, the door used to be at the ground level. This house has been raised a storey, so they have effectively added a whole new floor, without having to rebuild the roof from scratch.

It must something sentimental about the door.

  26. Maybe it was left for directional pruposes..."look for the house with he white door" - or "you can't miss it, it's the house with the white door."

  28. I am hopeless at captions.
Maybe you could actually stop one day and ask them why they left the door?
    I would.
Why wonder and wonder when a few simple words could give you the answer.
Most people would not mind telling you why.
