Asking For Help Isn't Easy

Many of you may know the lovely Sarah S. from Cottage Garden Studios--  She's a blogger from way back and one of my most cherished blog friends.  But she hasn't been around much lately and there's a very serious reason for that.

Sarah has quietly been battling breast cancer for the past few months.

And now she needs our help.

Please stop by her blog and read what she has to say.  And, if you can, make a donation to help her through this difficult and financially crippling battle.

Asking for help is extremely difficult for Sarah so she is offering this piece of her beautiful original art in a raffle as a thank you to those who donate $5 or more.  She's just that kind of girl.

Please stop by and cheer Sarah on with a comment and if you can, a donation.   And please share this on your blog as well.  The raffle ends April 20th.

A million thanks from Sarah and me.

xoxo Joanna

I just drained my bank account, paying for breast cancer treatment. I'm grateful that mine was caught early and that I at least have insurance that has a $3000 out of pocket expense cap. (As difficult as it was to come up with 3K, I'm still so much more fortunate than so many others with inadequate insurance!) My next stop... to Sarah's blog to help her out!

Been there too. Only too happy to help.

I am lucky to live in Canada where medical expenses don't break the bank.

I tried donating with Visa but there was a glitch in the system.. only offering me a list of states and not provinces, even though I selected Canada. I wrote to Sarah and will try again if she is able to correct it.

You're a good friend, Joanna.

How sad to hear this news. I cannot believe the number of friends who are battling this horrible disease lately. I am late but I will go by Sarah's blog. It is great to have a friend like you, Joanna. You are one in a million.

I hope your friend is doing a bit better and winning the battle with cancer.
It is so sad and scary thinking of how many people battle cancer each and every day. Cancer does seem to touch all of us in one way or another.

I'll go and visit now dearest. I'm going through a similar 'battle' with my Mother at the moment. Yes she is older but had been vibrant and active. The prognosis isn't good but we're enjoying every precious moment.

Have not been home much lately, and going on a road trip next week to Wisconsin to see my aunt and some other relatives. Will go see Sarah now.
